Chedid Foundation and artist Ghazi Baker pay homage to resilient Beirut, support relief efforts

On the heels of the Beirut explosion that shook the city on August 4, 2020, Chedid Foundation joined hands with renowned Lebanese artist Ghazi Baker to support, fund, and celebrate relief efforts.

Funds from the foundation’s acquisition of Baker’s painting, (name of painting), which portrayed the explosion, were all channelled to the rebuild of Hospital Wardieh that was demolished in the aftermath of the tragic event.

Chedid Foundation has also photographed and printed Baker’s painting digitally on a 70×40 cm frame. The digital copy will be shared with around 200 VIP stakeholders of Chedid Capital in Beirut, inviting them to, in turn, lend their helping hand to the hospital.

The painting was securely stored at the Chedid Foundation headquarters, and will be auctioned within six months to one year. The money collected through the auction will be channelled to a deserving NGO that has demonstrated both courage and merit in its contribution to the reconstruction of the Beirut capital.
